Hi all
I have received some questions regarding LAB's gig at the Tavastia on the 19th of May 2005. So, here's a short summary of it.
For those who haven't heard about Tavastia, it is a legendary and the best rock club here in Finland (
http://www.tavastiaklubi.fi). If band plays there, you know that they have already earned some credits. If you ever come to Helsinki, it might be a place worth visiting. You might even see Pekka there :)
The evening was started by Flylow (
http://www.flylowmusic.com/) at about 22:30. Flylow is a new Finnish hard rock band who have just released their debut album Bridges. LAB started their gig about 23:30 and played something like 70 minutes.
Ana said in the beginning of the gig that Tavastia is the world's hardest place to perform. This because her father is always there when they are on stage and her father always spots all the slight mistakes they make. Well, I'm sure that her father was very pleased with this gig.
LAB played at least two songs from their first album. Songs were 'til you're numb and trapped. I think that from the second album they played machine girl, beat the boys, hardcore, tv, chocolate and ding-dong. Ana dedicated chocolate to "the one brown haired man in the audience". Hmmm, I also have a brown hair ;-) I guess that they played almost all the songs from their latest album (but I'm sure that they didn't play torture for two). Goodness I'm a godness was dedicated to all the women in the audience. Pekka probably have a complete list of performed songs.
The gig was great and the longer it went on the better it sounded. The next LAB gig in Helsinki will be on the 12th of June at the Kaivopuisto. It is a free concert arranged by NRJ radio station (
http://www.nrj.fi/service.cntum?pageId=107832). Concert is mainly aimed to the teenagers and bands usually play there something like 3-4 songs. Oh, and there have been approximately 50000 listeners :)
