Post subject:  Fleas and lice

The suckers are tubular-mouthed insects, most notably mosquitoes. The female mosquito has a proboscis that she inserts into the body of her host in order to suck a little blood. Insects that feed on plant sap also have sucking mouthparts with a sharp tip that she inserts into the stem of the plant. Moths and butterflies are also absorbents, and their hoses are necessarily long so that they can be extended inside the flowers to reach the nectar, and when the insect does not use its sucking hose, it wraps it in an elegant arrangement.

Insect wipers include flies, and when a fly crawls over a source of food, it wipes the part of its mouth on it, and thus appears as if it is licking it or wiping it with its tongue because the part of the mouth that touches the food is like a soft ball, and this part penetrates multiple minute openings that are connected to the food channels. And because the fly cannot “wipe” solid food, it secretes a little liquid over it to dissolve it, and then sucks it into the food channels.
