Managed to contact HBO through their FB site. The HBO website and app is not available in Malaysia and I was unable to cancel my subscription. HBO customer support responded promptly to my request and effectively canceled my subscription. I read hbo max reviews and it became clear to me that not everyone is happy with their service.
