We recently had a teacher who quit because of a family problem, and after a week she came to see me and told me that she couldn't quit smoking and continue working with us. She was happy because she was a valued teacher and we never wanted her to stop. Talking to her, she said that her old maid, who used to take care of her son, was back. In fact, it was the reason why the teacher decided to quit smoking. Technically, the maid saved her career. It reminded me of the power of MAIDS... Especially in a country like India, where we rely so much on so many people for various things, the maid has literally transferred that power over all of us.
