This one is similar to"Free Armor Trimming" however is much simpler to pull off. The armor trimming trick usually requires the scammer to put on a costly set of buy OSRS gold armor, a type of"example" of their work. That might not be viable away. The scam"Doubling Money" merely requires some excess gold, making it a scam which almost anyone can do.

There are variants to this trick. Some scammers will increase the doubling amount in tiny increments, taking the time to construct trust before asking for the sum that is significant. More desperate folks will take that first"test money" and run. Others are going to get a buddy to do a little doubling and rave about how"legitimate" they are. The threat of this scam is how easy it is to make it look legit. New players are easily sucked in by the illusion of profit, and scammers can change it up to match the target.

Whether its stealing armor, raking cash, or ambushing unsuspecting newbs, most RuneScape scams hinge on one thing: hope. New players will be overwhelmed by what the game has to offer. Armor trimming is the oldest scam in the book, the people claim they can "trim" your armor when you give them the armor they take it and log out.
