Audio books are a great way to learn a new language. They can help visually impaired people and people with dyslexia get through a book. They can also allow people to listen to books while they are doing other tasks. In fact, they are becoming very popular.

If you are planning on recording an audiobook hörbücher, you need to make sure that you have the right equipment and skills. You also need to know the best file format for distributing your work.

There are several different formats for audiobooks, including CDs, MP3s, and Windows Media Audio (.wma). Some of these formats have encoded markers to help listeners find specific sections.

The earliest recorded audio book was Caedmon Records' 1952 release of a Dylan Thomas poem. This is credited as launching the industry in the United States.

Another example is Scribl. It is a digital publishing platform that allows authors to publish audiobooks. These audiobooks can be distributed to over 200 online retailers and libraries, and a narrator can be selected to perform the recording.
