One of the well-known wildlife reserves is Tadoba National Park, which is frequently referred to as the jewel of Vidarbha and is situated in the Chandrapur district of is the oldest and biggest national park . The reserve was established in 1955 and consists of the Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Tadoba National Park is one of India's best-protected tiger sanctuaries, covering an area of around 625.4 sq km.

History of Tadoba National Park.
In 1955, Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra, which covers an area of 116.54 sq km, was designated as a national park. The Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was built near Tadoba National Park in 1986.The Tiger Reserve covers a land area of 1,727 square kilometres. According to the National Census, there were 43 tigers in 2010 in Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Local tribal people worship the god Tadoba.
